The candidate

  • ACA qualified accountant with strong audit and accounting experience who wishes to build a career in practice.
  • Enthusiastic and hard-working with excellent communication skills
  • Good commercial acumen
  • Committed to exceeding client expectations.
  • CCH audit and accounts software experience is beneficial but not essential.

The role

  • Reporting directly to the partners, the candidate will be responsible for meeting the compliance requirements of a varied client portfolio.
  • Day to day responsibilities will include:
    • Managing the workflow of a team of qualified and part qualified accountants
    • Ensuring all CRO, tax and other relevant deadlines are met.
    • Training and supporting your team.
    • Taking full ownership of the process from planning through completion for a wide range of audit assignments
    • Supervising and assisting with the preparation of audit exempt financial statements and periodic management accounts.
    • Liaising with your colleagues in our tax and company secretarial departments
    • Acting as the initial point of contact for clients in your portfolio and developing strong relationships with those clients
    • Supporting the tax team with the accounting aspects of advisory work
    • Involvement in budgeting, billing, and cash collection
    • Business development – attending proposal meetings and assisting with the preparation of marketing materials.
    • Special projects – e.g. corporate finance, secondments etc

 

  • The candidate will also have the opportunity to work on ad-hoc advisory projects including:
    • Preparation of integrated financial projections
    • Financial and systems reviews
    • Assisting clients in dealing with banks – finance applications / periodic reporting / restructuring
    • Company reorganisations
