The primary objective of our client is to promote the growth of their services through the development of new business.

They are looking for a aggressive โ€œhunterโ€ field sales professionals who will be responsible for selling Customs Clearance and Consulting / Compliance solutions to meet sales targets and generate new revenue within the territory.

The Business Development Manager will develop new customers by prospecting and responding to business development leads. In addition, the sales professional will actively monitor and review customer sales activity and actively collaborate with other departments within the organisation both on a national and international basis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research and identify new business opportunities – including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, or new ways of reaching existing markets.
  • Create and maintain an active pipeline of new business.
  • Maintain an active diary of customer meetings, events, trade shows.
  • Attain budgeted sales and financial targets according to the company`s strategic plan.
  • Generate leads and cold call prospective customers.
  • Meet with customers/clients face to face or by conference call.
  • Foster and develop relationships with customers/clients โ€“ understand their needs be able to respond effectively with a plan of how to meet these.
  • Think strategically – see the bigger picture and set aims and objectives in order to develop and improve the business.
  • Have a good understanding of the products and services of our client and be able to advise others about them.
  • Discuss promotional strategy and activities with the marketing department.
  • Liaise with the finance team, operations, and management as appropriate.

Job Requirements

  • At least 5 years of sales experience in the Logistics / Customs Industry.
  • Positive, self-motivated, and pro-active, able to work on both an individual basis but also to fully collaborate as part of a team.
  • Good communicator with excellent presentation skills.
  • Committed individual who is used to working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products.
