ABOUT CLIENT

Our client is one of Ireland’s leading family-owned distributors of building materials, specialising in insulation and drywall products, to the Irish and UK markets. Established over forty years ago, they have a history of servicing some of the largest Irish and British construction firms.

is experiencing significant growth and are now looking to strengthen the team by adding a HR Manager.  The successful applicant will be an ambitious self-starter who is motivated to take the lead with ever-changing priorities and able to maintain focus on the most important tasks. You will be able to demonstrate a strong track record of HR deliverables.

 

Job Role

 

  • Effectively manage the HR function, providing advice, expertise, and guidance to members of management on all HR issues aligned with overall business strategy.
  • Manage and deliver the business recruitment needs, from role advertising, candidate selection, to succession planning processes.
  • Develop, update & maintain HR policies and procedures.
  • Direct industrial and employee relations and represent the organisation in third party arenas as appropriate.
  • Conduct Disciplinary and Grievance hearings.
  • Facilitate education and career development for staff.
  • Manage the implementation and continual refreshing of our L&D Portal.
  • Oversee all aspects of HR administration and ensure HR records are kept up-to-date.
  • Respond to HR queries and requests.
  • Ensure the effective implementation of performance management.
  • Develop and nurture a positive workplace wellness culture and promote healthy work environments across the organisation.
  • Good knowledge of labour law and H.R. best practice

 

Job Skills & Requirements

 

  • Degree level HR qualification
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Experience in a Sales and/or Construction environment would be desirable
  • Exposure to all elements of HR practice including workforce planning/recruitment, performance management, talent management, succession planning, employee engagement & retention, HR data management & change management.
  • Strong working knowledge of HR & IT systems.
  • Excellent report writing, communication & presentation skills.
